The Pavel Koutecký Award celebrates its 20th anniversary!

The 20th anniversary edition of the Pavel Koutecký Award will take place on February 9–13, 2026, at the Kino Kavalírka in Prague. The award is associated with supporting and discovering emerging documentary filmmakers whose work offers an original perspective on the world around us.

The open call for film submissions will be announced in November–December 2025.

This year, the jury will undergo a transformation, gaining an international dimension and thus broadening the debate on Czech documentary film.

The Pavel Koutecký Award continues to be a space for new voices, opinions, aesthetics, inspiration, and dialogue that transcends the boundaries of film.
