Workshop: Introducing Films to Audience
Film studies students at the Department of Film Studies, Faculty of Arts, Charles University, have the opportunity to participate in a specialized workshop focused on preparing introductory lectures for film screenings and leading discussions with audiences. The workshop focuses on the practical skills needed to work with audiences, contextualize films, and moderating post-screening debates.
The workshop will be led by Viktor Licek, a graduate of film studies at the Faculty of Arts, Charles University, dramaturge of the Mezipatra Queer Film Festival, and head of the programming department of the Ji.hlava International Documentary Film Festival. Thanks to his many years of experience with festival dramaturgy and working with audiences, he will offer participants expert guidance and specific feedback.
Each participant will choose a film from the programme of the 20th Pavel Koutecký Award and prepare their own introductory lecture and discussion concept. They will then put these outputs into practice during the screenings. The workshop also includes reflection and joint evaluation with the lecturer.
The workshop will take place during the 20th Pavel Koutecký Award, February 9–11, 2025, at the Kino Kavalírka cinema in Prague.
