Spider Symphony

A non-narrative short film, built on detailed shots, the textures of spiderwebs, and a series of photographs of spiders captured while weaving their webs, is enhanced by dramatic music that accompanies the entire piece. The animation was created during a plein air workshop in Czech-Saxon Switzerland with the animation department at Pilsen.

Natálie Nešporová is a graduate of animation at the University of West Bohemia and a director of short experimental films in which she explores the details of the remarkable micro-worlds around us, which are otherwise easily overlooked, through a combination of camera, photography, animation and music.

The screening will be followed by a discussion with the authors.
